Some of these issues include terrorism and how the Palestinians are pissed of at Israelis.
There are a million little issues that chip away at the well-being of Jewish identity. One big thing is the fact that a dignified quality of life is out of reach for a lot of people in Israel. A lot of young people are leaving the homeland of Jewish people because of the fact that money does not go a long way. In fact, money goes a longer way in some of America’s most expensive metropolitan areas than it does in metropolitan areas in Israel.
It is a real concern that young Israelis are flocking out of Israel because of the fact that Israel is the thing that solidifies Jewish identity. When Jewish Israelis leave Israel, they are putting themselves back into the Jewish diaspora. They are making themselves vulnerable to the type of antisemitism that their ancestors have been subjected to for thousands of years.
The other problem is that foreign identities tend to weaken when people come to the United States. This can be seen in the fact that the American decedents of European Americans do not have the same ethnic, and sometimes religious, affiliations as their immigrant ancestors. Many ethnic and religious enclaves of immigrants no longer exist. Many white Americans love to say what their ethnic backgrounds are, but they are not the same as what their ancestors were. Some Americans show remnants of an ethnic background, but at the same time many people are unattached and are distant or less affiliated with the identities that their ancestors had.
